Hello, Miss Bee here!  Welcome to my blog! Currently, I am a High School English teacher, and I have taught 9th, 10th, and 12th grade.  Also, I have taught Public Speaking in addition to English.

I decided to create this blog halfway through my second year of teaching as a way to reach out to the educational community and for them to reach out to me.  As I've started to see early in my teaching career, having support - in regards to companionship, access to resources, and a safe space to air out our concerns and struggles - is so important to our success as teachers.  I know I would not have gotten this far without my fellow teachers, administrators, and my non-teacher friends (who are wonderfully patient to listen to all my teacher stories!).

I still remember my first day, and I was petrified! I was only a few years older than these students whose academic success depended on me, and I was afraid I would let them down.  However, it is a moment that you have to push through - take a deep breath and put on your game face.  With each day, it becomes easier slipping into your teacher shoes (unless they're high-heels, ouch!), and the best way to get comfortable in them is to not take on teaching alone!

I have seen so many fellow teacher blogs, and they've helped to remind me that while I am a teacher, I'm still human and that's okay.  There will be days where you feel like you failed, that you're a fraud and all the students know it, and you make a mistake (silly or otherwise).  However, there will be silver lining days too.  You'll see the light bulb go on over a student's head and they'll get it.  You'll watch that struggling student make gains no one ever thought they would.  You'll be awed by the experiences and thoughts some students share; they might come in between dolphin noises and desk drumming, which makes it even more awe-inspiring sometimes!  Teachers are human, and so are the students, and I think that makes it one of the most rewarding careers ever.

As you browse through my blog, you'll see that I've tried to offer a variety of resources and content.  There are tons more on my YouTube Channel and my Pinterest that you can access through the links below on my page.
